ABC’s former horror drama “666 Park Avenue” aired its winter finale on Sunday December 2, 2012. The show is about Jane Van Veen (Rachel Taylor. The star of another ill fated ABC drama 2011’s Charlie’s Angels) and her boyfriend Henry Martin (Dave Annable. Coming off of his completed ABC series Brothers and Sisters) who move to a New York apartment building called The Drake located at 999 Park Ave (Which seems confusing but the title comes from the fact that something evil is there). Jane starts to wander the building and investigate the past, while the building owner and his wife Gavin (Terry O’Quinn) and Olivia (Vanessa Williams) Doran are hot on her trail.
The show got canceled in November after only 7 episodes, ABC has decided to air all 13 episodes that were originally ordered and passed on the two extra scripts that they wanted when the show first aired. The show averages a total of 4 million viewers per episode. The weird thing about the show getting canceled is that it gets better every episode. The show finally mastered its mix of horrors and scares with its humor and the characters where developing nicely. The writers had to change the season finale to a series finale and had to change it to make closure for the fans.
I think that this show was really well written and suspenseful. The network executives at ABC always cancel the shows with great writing and cast but the low viewership (i.e GCB, Charlie’s Angels (2011), and Eastwick). I’m still petitioning for a season 2 of GCB. ABC really needs to work on their publicity because these shows would get the viewership it derseves if it had a good advertisement campaign. ABC needs to fix its problems so it doesn’t cancel the good shows.
666 Park Avenue returns June 22, 2013... Which is this SATURDAY!!!
